Tommy McDearis
Senior Pastor
Tommy McDearis has served as our church’s Senior Pastor for 25+ years. A church youth described him as “short, bald, outgoing, jovial, and approachable.” Raised in church, he became a Christian at 16. Tommy is also a Police Chaplain for Blacksburg and Virginia Tech. He holds his bachelor’s degree from Georgia’s Berry College, and he holds both a Master’s degree and an earned doctorate in crisis and grief intervention from Southeastern Seminary, Wake Forest, NC. Tommy has counseling training from the School of Clinical Pastoral Education, Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, Winston-Salem, NC. He is married to his college sweetheart, Susan, a retired educator. They have three adult children, their beloved spouses, and two granddaughters, Adaline and Savannah (Tommy has lots of pictures to share!).
MICHAEL LEE
Executive Pastor
Rev. Michael S. Lee presently serves as our Interim Associate Pastor. Mike is a native of Warren, Arkansas. He received his Bachelor of Science in Education Degree from Ouachita Baptist University, his Masters of Divinity Degree from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, and his Doctor of Ministry Degree from Baptist Theological Seminary at Richmond. Mike taught high school history and government in Searcy, Arkansas and served two years as a missionary in Nazareth, Israel. He served churches in Kentucky and Arkansas as Minister of Youth and Singles and has pastored churches in Scottsville, Virginia and Altavista, Virginia. He retired in 2021. He is married to Luann Brooks Lee. They have four children: Brooke, Bethany, Janna and Michael and six grandchildren.
